Real farmers, real revenue growth
Three case studies of how verified listings and direct buyer relationships changed the economics of exporting.

Grace Owusu
Ghana · Cocoa
The challenge
Grace's cooperative of 60 cocoa farmers in the Ashanti Region relied on local middlemen who paid well below export value and offered no price transparency.
What changed
After onboarding to AgriBridge and completing GlobalG.A.P. certification, the cooperative began selling directly to a Belgian chocolate maker on standing quarterly contracts.
Before
$1,150
After
$2,940
per tonne revenue
- 2022: Joined AgriBridge, began verification process
- 2023: GlobalG.A.P. certification achieved
- 2023: First direct export contract signed with Belgian buyer
- 2024: Cooperative membership grew from 60 to 140 farmers
"AgriBridge didn't just find us a buyer — it taught us what our cocoa was actually worth."
— Lucas Verhoeven, Sourcing Director, Belgian Cacao Co.

Daniel Kiptoo
Kenya · Coffee
The challenge
Daniel's family farm in Nyeri produced excellent Arabica but had no route to specialty buyers, selling through an auction system that rarely rewarded quality.
What changed
A verified listing highlighting his farm's cupping score and altitude attracted a US specialty roaster within two months, leading to a direct micro-lot agreement.
Before
$3.20/kg
After
$6.80/kg
per kilogram price
- 2021: Farm verified and GPS-mapped by AgriBridge agronomist
- 2022: First cupping score of 86.5 published on listing
- 2023: Direct micro-lot deal signed with Portland-based roaster
- 2024: Built on-farm wet mill with reinvested profits
"We finally get paid for the quality we've always been growing, not just the volume."
— Daniel Kiptoo, Farm Owner, Nyeri County

Adisa Mahama
Ghana · Shea
The challenge
Adisa's women-led shea cooperative in the Upper West Region sold raw, unprocessed nuts to traders, capturing only a fraction of the finished butter's market value.
What changed
With AgriBridge's support securing Fair Trade certification and a shared processing facility, the cooperative began exporting refined butter directly to a German cosmetics brand.
Before
$0.85/kg
After
$3.40/kg
effective revenue per kg
- 2020: Cooperative formed with 40 members
- 2022: Fair Trade certification achieved
- 2023: Communal processing centre completed
- 2024: First direct export contract with German cosmetics brand
"Their traceability documentation made our compliance team's approval process effortless."
— Marlene Fischer, Head of Sourcing, NordCare Cosmetics
